Homer Halibut Derby
One of the most talked about fishing derbys in Alaska happens to take place from the small boat harbor of Homer Alaska. It's the annual Homer Halibut Fishing Derby that you read about all over the internet and in the fishing pages of outdoor magizines everywhere.
The Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby is an annual event that runs from May 1 through 9pm on September 30 of each
year. Tickets for the halibut tournament cost a mere $10 per person per day. The 2008 Homer Halibut Derby is
operated out of the boat harbor where there are plenty of charters available looking for the largest
biggest prize winners for this years Jackpot Halibut Derby.
